DeWitt Competition Cheer Squad
The DeWitt Competition Cheer Squad received a superior rating and award at the 2008 National High School Cheer Competition in Florida, February 8 - 12, 2008. The squad placed 14th out of 32 in the division and competed against towns such as Arlington, Texas.
The DeWitt squad was the smallest TOWN to compete (3,552 population), but not the smallest squad there. The smallest squad had 9 cheerleaders. The competition took 12 finalists, so DeWitt missed it by only 2 squads. The team members were very proud to represent our town!
The cheerleaders and their sponsor and chaperones are proud and had a great time at Disney World. They rode a charter bus for 18 hours there and back with the McGehee squad and stayed at the "Disney All-Star Movies" Resort and competed at the "Milk House" stadium located at Disney's Wide World of Sports Resort.
