Cinco de Mayo
Cinco de Mayo celebrates a victory of the Mexicans over the better armed and three times bigger French army at Puebla in 1862. The Spanish classes also celebrated at DHS with Señora Jimenez's tamales, Arisbeth's burritos con molé, Kendall's Mexican wedding cookies, and other treats. Students played Latería and enjoyed "las banderas voladoras" or the flying flags.
