Saturday, May 10
~Junior-Senior Banquet at 7:00 in the DHS cafeteria
~DHS Prom in the cafeteria. There is a sign-up sheet in the DHS office for any song requests for the DJ.
Sunday, May 11
~Baccalaureate Service at 5:00 at DeWitt First Baptist Church, 322 West 1st Street. Seniors will meet in Fellowship Hall at 4:45 so we can enter as a class. This is a casual service, but church clothing is to be worn. Please, no denim. Refreshments for Seniors and their parents will be served after the 30-minute service.
Monday, May 12
~Senior Semester Tests 4, 5, 6
~Yearbook Signing/Ice Cream Party, 1:30 - 3:00 pm, First United Methodist Church, 608 South Grandview Drive, DeWitt.
Tuesday, May 13
~Senior Semester Tests 7, 8
~Academic Banquet, 6:30 pm
~Fun & Games Night, 9:30 - 11:30 pm, DMS Gym
Wednesday, May 14
~Mud Fight/Water Balloons/Water Guns, 3:00 - 7:00 pm, Maughan's Shop, 1727 Hwy 130 North. Bring your own water guns, balloons, etc. and dress to be wet and muddy! Directions: Take Hwy 130 North out of DeWitt, the shop is about 1 mile north of Stanley Campbell's house on the left.
Thursday, May 15
~Composite Pictures and Graduation Practice, 12:00, in the gym. Seniors should have their caps and gowns for the picture. Girls, be sure your white collar is attached to your graduation gown and wear a top with no collar for the picture. Boys, wear a white button-down shirt and tie for the picture. Relyea Photography will be taking the photographs. Those who wish to order the composite picture can pick up an order form at practice. An 11 x 13 photo is $40. Seniors can also order their individual pictures in their cap and gown by speaking with Mr. and Mrs. Relyea. GRADUATION PRACTICE IS MANDATORY. Be prepared to stay until we get it right!
~Cookout at Five Oaks Lodge, 1895 Highway 152, 4:00 - 7:00. Seniors can fish, get some sun, shoot skeet, then enjoy a cookout. Directions: Take Hwy 165 past Lodge Corner to Hwy 153 at Bueker's Drier and follow the highway about 7 or 8 miles until you see the hunting club on your left. You can't miss it!
Friday, May 16 - GRADUATION DAY!
~Seniors should be in the cafeteria by 6:30 p.m. with cap, gown, tassel, and appropriate clothing. Girls, wear a dress with no collar and dark dress shoes. Boys, wear a white button-down shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes. DO NOT wear work boots, tennis shoes, or flip flops!
~Graduation Ceremony, DHS gym, 7:00. Seniors will receive four reserved seat tickets for their families.
Relyea Photography will take a picture of each graduate when they receive their diplomas. Two 5 x 7 photographs are furnished by DeWitt School District and will be mailed to parents.
Sunday, May 18
~Senior Recognition at Landmark Baptist Church, 6th and Jefferson Streets, DeWitt. Service begins at 11:00; Seniors who sign up to participate should arrive at 10:45 to enter as a class. Each Senior will receive recognition, a gift from the church, and he or she and their parents will be treated to a hamburger lunch following the service. A sign-up sheet is on Mrs. Dardenne's door for those who wish to attend.
Additional Information
~Orders may be placed with Relyea Photography for a copy of the Senior Class picture that was made at the fairgrounds last fall for $15. See a sample in Mrs. Dardenne's room.
~An activity fee of $40 should be paid as soon as possible to help cover the cost of meals and activities being organized for the Seniors by the Senior parents. Checks should be made payable to Class of 2008, placed in an envelope marked Senoir Activities and turned in to the office. This fee is collected by the parents and is separate from class dues.
~Any Senior who has outstanding fines, fees, missing books, etc. should take care of this as soon as possible!
