Veterans Day

There will be a program to honor our local veterans, Thursday, November 11, at 3:30, at City Hall.  Please join in recognizing these men and women.

Menu Change

Friday’s menu will be:   ravioli casserole, french fries, dill pickle spears, and pear slices.

November Is Community Service Month At GES

Mrs. Kathy Trites is encouraging Gillett Elementary students to get involved and give something back to their community in her guidance classes for the month of November.  Some of the activities they can be a part of include:

Loose Change War

Students may bring loose change to school to be donated to charity.  The class that collects the most change, will get to pick the charity they want the money to be donated to.  So send in those pennies, nickels, and dimes!  We will be collecting change through November 30.

Baby Items Collection For Dana’s House

Students may bring NEW (nothing used) baby items to school to donate to Dana’s House.  They currently have 7 babies under 1 year old.

            Any Community Service Project

Students are encouraged to find any opportunity where they can do something to help out their community.  Please be sure to take pictures and write about the experience and send this to school.

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be sent home Wednesday, November 17.

4-H Meeting

The Pride of Gillett 4-H club will meet Thursday, November 18 from 3:15 - 4:15 in the cafeteria.  Don’t forget to bring your snack.  Due to limited time, the snack needs to be a small one.  Bottled drinks also work really well, because they can be resealed and taken home, if students don’t have enough time to finish them.

Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving holiday is November 22-26.
