Parent Teacher Association

The DeWitt School District PTA is an active organization of interested parents, teachers, and community members who serve the schools in a variety of ways. Many useful items have been purchased for a number of programs in the schools through funds available through PTA.

Meetings

The Dewitt School District PTA meets at 5:30 p.m. in the DeWitt Elementary School library. Check the district calendar for upcoming meetings.

Next meeting date: November 2, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. in the DES library.

Membership

At the beginning of the school year each student will be provided a membership form. Simply fill it out, attach membership dues and return to your child's school.

2010 Membership Drive Winners:

The DES class winners will get an ice cream party on November 5, 2010, and the DMS and DHS winners will receive a snack pack.

Programs

Box Tops for Education & Tyson Labels

The DeWitt School District Parent Teacher Association will once again be participating in the Box Tops for Education program and collecting Tyson labels.  Each box top collected is worth $.10 for our schools.  Please cut out box top emblems on participating food packages and begin collecting for your student to take to their school.  Each class will have their donations tallied and a surprise will be awarded to the top class in each school. 

Kroger Cards

Let’s Go Krogering! How can you earn money for our school while grocery shopping? 1. Order a Kroger gift card ($5). (This is a special card coded specifically for DeWitt PTA.) 2. Load it with your shopping money. 3. Shop for your groceries. 4. Use your gift card to pay for the groceries. 5. Kroger will give 5% of what you spend to DeWitt PTA. It’s that easy.

Faculty Donations

The DeWitt PTA accepts donation requests from district staff for equipment, supplies, and enhancements to the district classrooms. Donations will be awarded based on need and the educational impact of students, classroom instruction, and improving student learning. Donation recipients will be required to return to a future PTA meeting to give a report on the outcome resulting from said donation. If recipient does not give a follow up report, the individual or organization will be ineligible for donations the following year.
